--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. GAME REQUIREMENTS
Jumper will work on IBM 386+ and compatibles. It requires
a VGA card and monitor and works best with a 486/33 or better
recommended for optimum playing performance. Also, Jumper requires
at least 400K of main memory plus 1Mb extended memory to run.
To run Jumper please make sure that there are no EMS handlers
running, ie EMM386, QEMM, etc. Also Jumper will not run under
Windows or OS/2.
Jumper also supports Sound Blaster, the Sound Blaster uses
port 220h, interrupt 7h and DMA channel 1 by default. These
settings can be changed with command line parameters, except for
the DMA channel. The parameters are as follows:
JUMPER [NO_SB] [SB <p> <i>]
PARAMETER FUNCTION
------------------------------------------------------------
NO_SB do not try to initialise Sound Blaster
SB 2<p>0 <i> where <p> ranges from 0 to f(hex) and
<i> ranges from 0 to 7
An example for a Sound Blaster with port 220 and interrupt 3 would be
JUMPER SB 220 3

Block Attributes
----------------
- Certain blocks are indestructible and cannot be destroyed by
shooting.
- Some blocks are anti gravity. ie. they will not fall after
their supports have been shot.
- Moving blocks (ie acid and water) will kill you if you touch
them from any angle or position.
- Spikes will only kill you if you either fall on (upward facing
spikes) or jump into (downward facing spikes) them, otherwise you
can walk on them.
- All gems in each level need to be collected (or shot*) before the
end of level door will open.
* Some gems are in impossible to collect positions, these MUST be
shot.
Game Completion
---------------
Jumper CAN be completed! We, and several others, have fully completed
the game without cheating. Every level in this version can be completed
without losing a life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
III. HINTS
To do well in this game you must learn how to use your rope properly.
When you fire the rope up, jumper can not move until the rope has reached
its maximum height. When you are travelling up on the rope you can jump
off at anytime by pressing:
HOME - jump off to the left
PGUP - jump off to the right
LEFT - walk off to the left
RIGHT - walk off to the right
DOWN - to fall straight down
UP - to jumper up from the rope
Another move you must master is when jumping diagonally you can press
down to stop your jump, this is helpfull when trying to land on small
platforms.
Also, if you want to move faster than walking, you can hold the <DOWN>
arrow key and press <PGUP> or <HOME>, this is also useful when you want
to climb steps one at a time.
